My PERK

Only an aunt can give hugs like a mother, keep Secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend.

The year 2020 has really spread the despair everywhere by taking away “the dear ones”. I too lost my perk recently, My Jayu Aunt. I remember, When my aunt used to came at our place, the first thing we used to do was: To go to the fridge and find the perk (chocolate).

Because she would bring it every time when she visited. Then our only focus was on that chocolate. But never put a thought as to why she used to bring that one only. As the meaning of the perk she also used to make us cheerful by smiling, laughing, and make the environment lovely.

One of the interesting things to do was to attend secretly the get- together of my mother’s childhood friends. The group consisted of my mother, Mayu aunt and Jayu aunt which actually spread the laughing gas. That time me and my brother used to make some plans to go inside the room and find the reason of their secret laughter!!!

I remember that she used to call me Harry Potter. One day I asked my mother about this. She told me, ‘I was a huge fan of Harry Potter and when you were in my womb; I was fantasizing that my son would be like Harry Potter. Jayu used to narrate the stories from Harry Potter movies.’ Because of her I was able to recall the untold things. She was connected with me when I was not in this world.

I never imagined, once I will be writing a miserable blog on someone having a constant smile, who never let anybody feel bad, who never even thought bad for the people who thought bad about her. I never imagined, a day will come when her                                                                  stories and gossips will be shared in the past tense.

During these unpredictable times, try to share the good things with your dear ones, because we can never tell what will happen tomorrow!

WE WILL MISS YOU MAUSHI...
